Who Cares? Find out April 12 – Hear the joys & struggles of supporting the vulnerable

April 12, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Date:  Aril 12, 2023 – 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

America’s labor shortage has hurt many vulnerable people. About 83% of group homes and services to people with intellectual disabilities stopped taking new clients at least once last year. Most of us don’t even see this or think about it. I know you care. So please get your ticket to hear the joys and challenges of front-line workers serving people with intellectual disabilities. And hear what people with disabilities care about as All-Abilities Media presents:

Who Cares? Our engaging storytellers, that’s who! Hear the joys and challenges of professional care of adults with intellectual disabilities. Direct care workers and people with disabilities will share their stories for one night only–Wednesday, April 12 at the Pittsburgh Playhouse’s Rauh Theater.

There’s a dire shortage of people who work in direct care, and a waiting list of thousands for people to receive help. Let’s step inside this often-hidden world to find out what’s going on. Besides the stories, you’ll see a photo essay one woman captured of her life in and out of a community living home, also known as a group home.

Thanks to Silver sponsors Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh and Mainstay Life Services, and Bronze sponsors: Citizen Care, and The Woodlands Foundation
