ANCOR, in collaboration with United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), was joined by Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) and Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), co-chairs of the Congressional Bipartisan Disabilities Caucus, this past week during a congressional briefing on the Case for Inclusion 2023 report. The briefing aimed to raise awareness about how ongoing failures to invest in community-based intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) services is exacerbating a long-standing workforce crisis, jeopardizing the ability of people with I/DD to access their communities. Both Representatives spoke of the crucial importance of legislative action to improve access to home and community-based services for people with I/DD, enabling them to live more independently and fully participate in their communities. Both members of Congress commended ANCOR for its outstanding work and committed to ongoing collaboration on these critical issues.
