Putting Resources Into Practice:  Incident Management (IM) Resource Guide (AAW and ACAP Providers)

This training is intended for Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) and the Adult Community Autism Program (ACAP) providers. Incident management is a critical process for assuring the health and safety of the people you support. In the past year, we have been inundated with incident management communications, trainings, and changes to the Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) system. Are you concerned that you may have missed important information or would benefit from having the information you need related to incident management at your fingertips? If so, the newly developed one-page BSASP Incident Management Resource Guide will be shared. We will provide an opportunity for questions and answers (Q&A) to discuss this resource.

ODP Residential Virtual Office Hours (VOH): Best Practice Standards in Behavioral Support

The Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) recognizes that effective, quality behavioral support must be grounded in and informed by basic, broadly accepted knowledge and processes. We have disseminated the Best Practice Standards in Behavioral Support to streamline expectations and practices for those individuals providing behavioral support in ODP programs. These standards were developed by ODP’s Unified Clinical Team consisting of representation from both the Bureau of Community Supports and the Bureau of Supports for Autism and Special Populations. The standards were drafted and disseminated in early 2021. We are excited to discuss the standards with Residential Providers encouraging those within the agency who has a role in oversight or implementation of Behavioral Support Services (e.g., Program Specialists, Clinical Staff, Behavioral Specialists) to join us!

Did you ever notice that when someone is feeling anxious, they seek out answers? When I’m worried about my bills, I want to know when my paycheck will arrive. When I’m anxious about a surgery, I ask everyone I know about their experiences. When I have a rash, I look at all of the pictures online. You are not alone! Join us to learn about the concept of Information Deprivation Trauma and how we can build resilience in ourselves and the people we support by simply improving how we communicate. Research reviewed will be focused on Deaf and Hard of Hearing populations.
